Creating a Quality Program

The need for improving business results is driven by macro-economic events and customer demands for better products and services at the lowest possible costs. The tools and techniques to achieve a greater level of quality in the past, may not be enough for today. The changing needs of society, customers, shareholders, and regulators are some of the reasons organizations must continually improve and breakthrough to new quality levels.

If your organization cannot answer 'yes' to all of these questions, then you may need to review your basic quality control and assurance systems:

  • Does your organization have 100% loyal customers and minimal customer dissatisfaction?

  • Do your organization's internal processes provide consistent, reliable delivery, with little rework?

  • Does your organization lead the competition in quality (high sigma) in the marketplace?

  • Is your organization able to create new and successful products that meet customer needs and shareholder expectations?

Creating a pragmatic quality program is the first step in getting organizations on the right track to a long-term improvement plan. Once in place, it will lead to other, more integrated and synchronized, process improvements.
